Happy Birthday Mom

Happy birthday Mom. Yes, it is my mother's birthday today. I am waiting for dinner which was the main reason why I posted today. I did not watch the Superbowl today because I was preoccupied with other things like presents, and spending time with Mom. I am now speechless about what I want to say now that I am typing on my computer. I'm having a sinus headache that due to other things may also be stress related. Simply speaking, there are some problems within my extended family, but today is my mother's birthday and I want to focus on positive things today. I want to forget that my grandmother isn't home tonight. I want to not go into detail about my aunt from India's phone call while I was blogging earlier.

I have just overheard that we (the four of us plus my visiting grand-aunt & my grandmother) will go downtown another night to have the birthday dinner. Now if I could write something positive about my day. I spent my morning and early afternoon elsewhere due to a pre-arranged training session. I didn't get home until after 4 p.m. after my sister, my dad, and I picked up my mom's ice cream cake from Dairy Queen. This year we decided to save money are give birthday cards from two senders instead of one sender each. My dad and sister gave a card which co-incidentally matched the birthday cake. I brought the card from my grandmother and myself a day before them. I always look for humourous cards, and prefer the joke over the other card's little message.

Our dinner plans have been finalized for this evening. My dad would like to have leftovers, while the other three of us have phoned in an take-out order at White Spot. All three of us are having our favourite items from their express menu - my sister is having English-style fish and chips combo. My mom will be having a Monty Mushroom burger and fries, and I'll enjoy a B.C. burger combo. My sister and I are substituting our soft drinks for milkshakes (chocolate and butterscotch respectively). My favourite White Spot milkshake isn't on their take out menu but I'll settle for butterscotch.

Hello gentle reader,

I am sorry for not having updated regularly since last year. I however appreciate the emails I have received earlier this year from a couple other bloggers who have read mine despite my hiatus. I was on vacation from May 25, 2005 until August 4, 2005 when I overseas and visited Kazakhstan and India. I may say more later if anyone wants me to describe how it went. Both are different countries, and I did enjoy being in India a slight bit more. I am on my sister's computer currently and may switch computers shortly. I'm on her computer because mine lacks speakers and I'm listening to Windows Media Player. Right now I'm listening to Aerosmith's "Blind Man," which I had saved onto my computer from a CD of mine last May in order to put on my MP3 player as a playlist to use on my vacation. That song has ended and "Sweet Emotion" has started. I'm going to turn on my computer after publishing this because my sister's computer settings don't load some webpages well as mine (including published versions of my blog). She might be kicking me off anyway soon, so I'll be going and will update later today.

Hmm, a post I started in June 2004. I forgot why I didn't post it then considering I had opportunities in 2005. Hmmm. I was a few days before the mess broke out off-simm on SB10, which I think maybe reason enough. I was pretty depressed and out of it last December/January. Please don't comment on those posts I wrote last December, which are still here - I regret writing them.

I'm posting despite the time of day and that I have little content wise to say today.

I don't know how many people who read my blog*spot and keep up with the recent trial in Vancouver or not. Basically, I'm just posting this because I don't agree with what was said .... today the justice system basically failed. Hopefully, the Crown will appeal the decision made today regarding the Air India trial.

According to the article provided, the Crown has 30 days to file an appeal. It has been nearly 20 years since that terrorist act was committed and it has already been too long for any justice to be served to the victims of this act. Sadly, some of the alleged co-conspirators were found not guilty. It's just a sad day in general.

Hello everyone,

I suppose it is time that I updated my blog*spot. Earlier this afternoon I updated my blogger profile. The first thing I did was delete the picture that I had uploaded there last fall. LOL, it was definately not a picture of me. I had got it from the official star trek site. I believe it was a picture from the last movie, Nemesis of Commander Donatra. Please forgive me if I spelt her name wrong. I feel like I should be apologetic today and I don't know why. Forget that I just said that. I also got a froogle wishlist. My next birthday is still approximately two months away but I thought of checking out the froogle service. It's just like google ... lol. So far I only have 'froogled' the keyword M*A*S*H and as a result whatever is on there is related to that keyword.

Has anything changed with me in real life since I posted on the 13th? Well, it has been two full weeks. I'm not feeling as 'disgusted' with myself as I was then. I was going to blog last week, on Tuesday or Thursday, but I didn't have the nerve. I suppose I should have, but I was distracted by other things.

A couple things have happened to me within the last few days. I think those events were positive unlike the week before that. A worm was downloaded on to my computer last Wednesday, and immediately was transmitted as an MS Dos shortcut to my online contacts minutes after. I didn't realize that it was transmitting until someone IMed me outside MSN and complained. Of all people it was Link, ... *pauses* I'm not sure why I said the phrase 'of all people', I don't think I meant it sarcastically. It's just that I was trying to do work while I had to explain to him that I didn't know about it, who sent it .... etc. But it was kind of odd when he got back to me last Tuesday and told me that I had a virus on my computer. I had leared on Friday that I had other similar attachments on my hard drive and saw my MSN archives which showed the people it sent the automated request to see the file named 'naked_party.' Some people had tried to send messages after seing that the request but the worm hadn't shown me their remarks until like a day later when I logged on. I've been too busy to delete the files ... supposing that I can delete them, lol.

When I started this session I didn't mean to mention Link by name ... I know that he doesn't know my blog's URL so I'm not necessarily afraid to talk about him, but he did slightly annoy me on Sunday. I'd have to explain how he annoyed me first of all. For those who don't know this already I'm taking a creative writing online course. I took one last semester, and I formed a habit of spending Sundays online writing. There were weeks when I would only stop to fill up a cup of coffee or go to the washroom, but other than that I would be typing or word processing. This was especially true when I was writing poetry. I didn't fast during those weeks, but I would be eating around midnight most nights or when the weekly work was handed in. Link had known that I was in that class last semester, and I thought I told him that I was taking the follow up course online as well for this semester. I think I'll stop talking about him, otherwise this will be a post about someone that I shouldn't be talking about while blogging. Needless to say, the last time I talked to him on Tuesday he was talking about the origins of short hair styles ... I think if he's online this Sunday I might have to go pretending I'm offline otherwise I might get heck for just IMming with someone while I'm supposed to be working. Most people don't IM when I put the 'busy' icon on but unfortunately not everyone does. Although since my classmates mostly use MSN, logging onto yahoo! wouldn't be necessary on Sunday.

Back on topic ...

I was talking about 'positive' events that have happened since Monday.

1) I had a presentation for English class on Monday. I had two partners, Jason and Alisha. It was practically a last minute thing, and unfortunately we didn't have handouts for the class, only overheads. We couldn't meet up to plan ahead until the day before that. Jason had just joined our class as of last Thursday and Alisha and I were already in a group of two by then. Jason, because he joined late, was also part of a second group. All presentations were about the elements used in short stories. My group presented points on irony, symbols, theme, and foreshadowing. Or at least before Jason joined the last topic was foreshadowing. He ended up talking about foreshadowing in his other group. Alisha presented symbols and theme. I was up first to present 'irony' and we had Jason introduce the three of us because he 'volunteered' and he and I noted that Alisha had the most content to present. I was nervous when it was my turn to present and when it came time to evaluate myself I gave myself 3.5/5 on my presentation. When the class was over, my instructor congratulated me so I suppose I did better than that.

Other things happened on this past Monday, but they weren't changes so I won't mention them. I think Monday turned out the best out of the other three days.

2) On Tuesday afternoon, I had an optometrist appointment. My mom was late picking me up ... I think I was ten minutes late at least but I was still able to have him see me. I was more fearful before the appointment than I was afterwards. In the fall I had noticed that my vision was blurring. This was in moderation, otherwise I would have told more people about this. I think I noticed this in October. I don't think anyone commented on this aside from my Mom a few weeks after when she realized that I couldn't read the time on the microwave when I was sitting on the family room sofa. There isn't any walls between the kitchen and the family room, by the way, so someone with 20/20 vision should be able to spot the time clearly. I was already feeling depressed with most things by the time I noticed this in October, which made me feel worse. I didn't tell my family about my vision problems until Christmas Day when some extended members came for dinner. As some of you know, my family isn't a Christian one ... but we try and have dinners every year when possible to catch up. Some relatives couldn't come this year, well a couple. I wasn't there for the 2003 dinner, because I was in India for the end of December and I was a bit disappointed that I couldn't see some people who also didn't show up for Thanksgiving in October.

Getting back to my appointment, my optometrist did confirm that my vision was blurrier than before but is still 'good.' He did give me a prescription however, which was a mild one. I have never had a prescription for corrective lenses before, and two years ago I didn't have perfect vision but I still didn't need glasses. My mom was still exchanging a blouse at Cotton Ginny in another part of the same mall when I finished my appointment. Anyways, when we left the mall we had planned to go and get my new prescription filled tomorrow while driving to the shop on Ironwood, because it was were the rest of the members in my family had got there glasses in recent years. That fact is a bit significant given that the optometrist's office is located beside Lenscrafter's.

4) This next event took place on Tuesday as well, although it was some news that I would not have been able to have predicted beforehand. A former simming friend of mine who lives in Scotland IMmed me as he was about to log off from MSN. I don't talk to him that often and he did IM me for a reason. Apparently there will be a Stargate convention held in Vancouver in April this year ... and he said that he'll be flying over here to attend it. He did ask me if I am planning to attend it, and I told him that I'm not familiar enough with Stargate. But I'm still planning to meet him when he visits Vancouver, although I would have to take time out of studying .... (the convention is during exams). I was planning to travel to Asia in April, but my plans have moved to sometime in May due to my dad's travel arrangments. This means I'll have to celebrate my birthday here still ... I was kind of wondering what it'd be like to celebrate it in Kazakhstan, ... but at least I should know what to expect when it happens here. No one has ever planned a surprise party for me ... not that I'm disappointed. It won't be a milestone this year, although next year will be a quarter-century. I only hope that I will have time to not only visit Kazahstan, but have adequate time to enjoy myself in India. I had very little time to be a 'tourist' last December due to the funeral, and I hope it will be different this spring, or summer as it will be in India. Which means I'll need summer clothing for my vacation, and *gasps* any humdity won't include rain when I come to India.

5) This event did occur yesterday, which was Wednesday the 26th of January. The rotating strike action did affect my institution and classes were cancelled. Thankfully I have no on-campus classes on Wednesdays. I almost had one, but I cancelled it in order to watch Alias on Wednesday nights. LOL Unfortunately, my evening class coincides with the Apprentice 3 time slot on Thursdays. I play catch up with the Apprentice by watching it air on MSNBC on Friday nights, as long as I don't view the NBC/yahoo sites, the suspense and drama is still there on Fridays. Anyways, about my Wednesday event. I didn't go and get my prescription for my first pair of glasses yesterday. First of all, my sister had a seizure and secondly, while she was resting afterwards the autobody shop phoned and told me that my car is ready to be picked up from the shop. I didn't blog this when it happened, but I had a car accident on December 9th about an hour after I finished blogging. I didn't feel like talking about it after December 11th to anyone and I still would rather forget it. Anyways, now my car looks street-worthy. It looks like I'll have to choose my frames on Friday afternoon and spend the next several hours in anticipation. My dad had offered his old frames, the ones with the colourful splashes on them, which was bright blue on brown ... but I declined .... stating that I'd like to see what was avaliable in stores.

6) This next thing didn't happen to me directly, it does concern my Mom. This event is a 'positive' one, so I don't want anyone to worry and she is fine. My time is running out so I only have a few minutes. I might get time to read the posted version in my History class's coffee break, but not enough time to edit thoroughly. My mom had a continuing education Russian class in Vancouver last night. She enjoyed it. But she did share something interesting with me. Her instructor 'suggested' that students should know French beforehand, my Mom mentioned it has something vaguely to do with accent. Anyways, her course lasts for seven more weeks and is a weekly series of workshops. My sister and I are 'interested' in taking it when its offered again, although I don't know how serious my sister is interested in taking it given that they will be evening sessions.

What is the point? Oh whatever ....

I feel like wrinkling my nose in disgust. Disgusted about what exactly? *Smirks* I think I'm disgusted with myself. It is just a feeling that I have right now. I don't know if writing that bless'd word over again several times will erase that thought. I have no idea. I'll type it over five times to get it out of my system: disgust, disgust, disgust, disgust, disgust. That was very unproductive and did not work at all.

Oh whatever ....

I'm staring at my computer screen. I'm feeling so lame that it is the only thing I can do without ... well ... thinking of a way to embarrass myself in this computer lab. I can't log into hotmail or my yahoo.ca email accounts. I wanted to send just one email but the damned settings reset everytime I send in a password. It's as if I will get passed over if I don't post somewhere. That isn't a certainty but it sure feels like it.

Disgust, disgust, disgust, disgust, disgust.

I feel so pathetic. Let it rot .... oh whatever, I forgot that song but I remember it was in the parody move the Rutles which poked fun at the Beatles and Beatlemania. My mind is so blank that I can't think of anything meaningful.

Oh wait, there is one thing! I have a cold. There I smiled, it was a sarcastic one but ... that moment ended as soon as I typed 'but' which made me sigh all over again.

Let it rot. I sighed again.

Oh whatever .... I sighed and smirked at the same time. I had this thought which is a bit disturbing. It would be just as weird as saying 'lol' five times over or saying 'like' in every second sentence where I am not using metaphors. I sighed again. I want to make an ass out of myself. It's like that would be the only way someone would pay attention to me for more than five seconds before moving on. Oh whatever ....

*Hmphs* Was that another sarcastic smile? I'm tempted to say 'whatever' to that expression but there is something holding me back this time. I just remembered what the 'hmph' and sarcastic smile was about. It had to do with my English class, albeit remedial English ... but English just the same. There was this excercise where we teamed up in pairs to interview each other and then take turns introducing us to the class. There was an odd number today and I ended up in a group of three. I suppose I did not hear everything said. All the questions were standard and ordinary ... no one in my group asked about our hobbies ... but the question about 'what is an interesting fact about yourself' was answered somewhat easily. My answer was a bit lame though. I do not know if it sounded sarcastic: I cannot read this overhead. To make the exercise a bit more offbeat, I forgot things about the classmate I was introducing to the class ... about the 'interesting' item.

Oh whatever ... I have a history class in less than an hour. I did read the assigned reading. The only question is if I will be 'interactive' when the class starts. I cannot even remember if I had some 'lunch' or what could be considered a lunch or not. I just remembered that I was supposed to take my cold medicine two hours ago. That means that I cannot have any until I come home which would be almost 10:30 p.m.

I do not know if there was even a point to this entry. No point, no point at all. It is like I have been free-falling without a parachute for several hours. I wonder when I will fall and hit the pavement. I wonder if anyone will see me or notice when that happens. I should go before I say something that I will regret in the future. I should go and eat. I should go and ... quit? QUIT? Quit what? Stop complaining? Pretend that I am feeling fine and smile without sarcasm? That is easier said than done. That last sentence was a lame cliche. I do not want to quit. I do not want to add the adjective 'quitter' or rather the label to myself. All that I feel like doing is stare at my computer screen and snarl. I just sighed yet again. What happened to the feeling of possible vomitting and nausea? What happened to the dizziness? Where did all the pleasure go? Why is everything so darn ordinary? I just snarled again. Have I come undone? How could anyone tell if I have come undone? There are too many voices in my head. The other, the second ... the one that is telling me to give in .... is now saying 'shut up.' I do not want to stop writing although I realize that part of me does. There are too many contradictions .... why are not there any tautologies? Where are the tears?

*Smirks and sighs* I just had the 'temptation' to spit on the library keyboard. It would have been pointless other than have some people point out how immature it might seem to them to see an adult spit on a keyboard. Spitting is pointless, but if it were vomit ... it is possible that an observer would ask if "I am okay" or not. Why is it that I keep on sighing? No one is paying any attention to me. Seriously, no one is watching over me. *Smiles* Although the phrase 'watching over' depends on what connotations the phrase refers to. I was referring to every day people ... I did not mean anything that can be interpreted as religious/spiritual or anything like that. At this rate, even if I go and get something to eat before class I will not get anything finished unless its quick. I SHOULD GO. Good bye.

There are significant changes from the old one. There is only one section and it is an input only board unlike the Ezboard one. Truthfully I'm not mourning the other one because most people in the fleet were ignorant that the IDF had one and it was rarely used.

Hey everyone,

I'm sorry but I don't have the time for a long entry. I'd just like to explain a few changes.

1) Different template;
2) Deleted link;
3) New link;
4) Comments but no tag-board.

Explanations for the changes:

1) I changed my templates twice today. I changed once to add some more green, but I noticed before saving those changes that formatting and adding links required different html codes so I reverted to SplitPea since I was somewhat familiar with inputing the link codes.
2) I hope no one minds but I deleted the link to Jennifer's blog. In a way, I have other links that go to that site if you click on the other links provided in a roundabout way.
3) In the 'place' of Jennifer's main blog I put Jennifer's Universe there instead. It is her main site and all her important links can be found there.
4) I do have the tag-board codes saved, but I decided out of laziness to see how my blog*spot would look sans tag-board. I do get the comment feature on 'recent posts' that I wrote after I changed blogger settings after sometime between May 1st - May 30th. Sadly, any entry posted prior to and including April 30th will not have a link for comments. I did receive plenty of comments on my April 30th date in particular and I am thankful for most of them that I received around that date.

I will try to blog again this week if time permits in between simming and college life. It is likely that college life will try to interfere so I can't promise anything. If any of my links are either defective or should be updated please let me know. Furthermore, if you would like me to link you to my site please let me know and tell me *why* I should do so. If I know you reasonably well, I might add you without an extensive reason. If your reason seems reasonable enough I just might add you to my links list.

As some of you might notice, my title is in French. LOL I don't know how to put the accent on 'etes' ... if someone can tell me the code to punch in I'll use it in the future.

If you have already voted, thank you for doing so. I am not counting on many people to see this message when its posted before all the polls have closed on the West Coast ... but I feel useful and am motivated to blog this.

I cannot vote in this election because I am a Canadian national and still live in the country of my birth. I do care about who is elected as the next US president however.

I did discuss this in my French language lab ... in French I might add. That lab ended at 6 pm PST.

If I were an American I would not vote for Bush. I would likely be an undecided voter coming into the election ....

On this hypothetical election day .... hmmm ...

I'm having trouble thinking of who I would vote for. Canadian politics has a much different system ... with well over 2 main parties (6 in total plus fringe parties). I dislike the American system simply because it is bipartisan as opposed to well .... the system in my country.

I have to say that I would vote for Nader if I lived (hypothetically speaking) in a state where he is campaigning. He paid attention when Canada held their national election in late June .... I read an article where he endorsed the party (or rather their leader) that I ended up voting for.

But ... this is a very important but ... if Nader were not running in this hypothetical scenario I'd vote for Kerry.

To date I don't see myself immigrating to the USA so neither scenarios are likely, LOL.

Hey everyone,

Normally I would be in French class now - but circumstances were different today. LOL. I have a logical explanation for why I'm blogging right now. Actually, I got the "blogging" urge today after reading a fellow blogger's blog*spot. She had posted some results to a 'test' she took concerning religion. I've unofficically shifted through religious/spiritual existence through my short 23 years of existence and I decided to take that NON-scientific test just for fun. I, in the past, have blogged several quizzes here for varying amounts of time - they were all just for fun. My parents do know that I have a blog*spot. My dad stumbled upon it after googling what actually is my original yahoo IM screen name and found a link to my blog last December. He asked me not to post quizzes - or as he meant it, clutter my blog*spot. I have a no-editing policy and I didn't want to delete a bulk of past posts. I still don't. Anyways, my dad currently can't view it from where he is and barely reads emails because internet access is sooo expensive as is.

As an FYI note, I am taking an offline Asian Philosophy course as an elective for this current semester at my educational institution. I took this 'test' twice and laughed both times. Hmmm .... is it just me or does this imply that I'm not in sync with the western 'religions' cited. The class I'm taking does cover some of those Asiatic religions but doesn't touch on my family's one. Historically speaking Sikhism is over 400 years old - created in the early 16th century. I looked in the dictionary the other day - it was basically classified as originally being a 'Hindu sect with Islamic influences formed in the early 1500s.' I would be greatly offened - as someone of entirely Sikh ethnic origins - if someone now referred to Sikhism as not being an organized religion.

Religions/philosophies covered in my course:
1) Hinduism
2) Mahayana Buddhism (Theravada Buddhism is mentioned since they originated from the same origins)
3) Taoism (aka. Daoism)
4) Zen Buddhism

Sikhism was originally a mono-theistic rebellion to Hinduism. In prinicple not only does Sikhism infer that there is one god, but it rejects the notion of the Hindu caste system. Sikhism's holiest shrine is called by non-believers as the Golden Temple. Unfortunately I can't state what it literally means ... but I have visited it at least on more than on occasion - the anglicized name describes it outward appearance. On this survey, Sikhism was listed as #16.

Hey all,

Let me explain myself first before you read all of what I've pasted here. I took a quiz more than once ... Your New Romance's "What Scent Are You?" quiz. Actually those who take it are up for a contest.

I didn't really take it because I thought that I'd win. I took it for fun. I rarely get 'dolled up', but when I do buy cosmetics myself I tend to let loose. The cosmetic I buy the most of is eyeshadow. Some colors are different than others ... alot of dark/sedate greens and browns ... and some others that are kind of out there in terms of being 'dramatic.' For years I have been looking for my ideal lipstick, it was kind of hard since I was looking for the perfect red. My skin tone isn't that mainstream enough that I can just march into the department store and ask for whatever they have. On top of that, I get cosmetics allergies on my eyes, and especially my lips ... once following my highschool grad dinner and dance my entire face puffed up.

Anyways I did find a hypoallergenic red shade I loved this July by Annebelle. It is appropriately called "Adrenaline." When I bought it I was birthday shopping for my sister's birthday - she asks for cosmetics every year so I ended up buying one item for myself during my lunch break. I didn't intend to even buy a 'red' lipstick that day ... I was trying to match my Revlon "Vixen" nailpolish. I first used that shade for my highschool valedictory ceremony. Since my mom and I dressed alike I thought of trying something different. Well I did more than that on stage (and no I wasn't up for any scholarships or was the valedictorian, lol). The nailpolish is a deep burgundy shade ... Annebelle had an even deeper burgundy but it looked too bright when compared with my skin tone. I used to highlight my hair during my last year of highschool. I really messed up in June when I did graduate - went blonde, my regular stylist was on maternity leave and well I should have just not done what I did ask for. I hated my hair come late July and I couldn't renovate my hair in September when my stylist came back to work. Then I began colouring my hair. It isn't a secret anymore that for the past four years I've been an artifical redhead. Actually that isn't true at the moment, I've been a brunette with red low lights .... but I'm itching to change back. LOL

I actually have a small book on 1981. The more memorable events are there. But some interesting things in the book aren't ... little pop-culture tidbits that are somewhat interesting. MTV being created, I think is my favourite thing on that listing. I think I saw the video for Bette Davis Eyes ... on MMM - not MTV obviously, ... but it was a VHI program on that CHUM owned station. I don't really follow mainstream pop music, but I think I *may* have heard those names once or twice, lol. Although Elijah Wood is pretty interesting ... lol ... I'm sure most of you would recognize him if I point out that he played Frodo in all the LOTR movies. LOL. Hmm, the Islanders won that year as well.

There is a backlogged entry I started in late June but never finished drafting or publishing it. Should I publish it ever or just delete it? I'll finish it if there is any real demand for me to do so. I won't be a very serious entry but it would 'cheer me up' if I did take the time to finish it. You know what, I've had this blog since Halloween and I just haven't bothered with the full-text posting format. I might try it another day, but this one suits me just fine - when the tags are working of course, lol.

I had emailed her back awhile ago and pointed out that I'm Canadian. Lol, she made one for my province too ...

Canada has its own ... and the only provinces listed thus far are BC and Alberta. I didn't get all the Alberta jokes ... shows I'm not an Albertan, lol. I found the BC and Canada memes hilarious. Some jokes were more funnier to me than others from the Canadian one. I have some two-cents on some of the funnier punch lines:
The lines about "pop" and "chocolate bars" ARE the truth ... they are so NOT candy bars and sodas.
Canadian tire money ... LOL ... but I suppose that joke would be lost on non-Canadians.
Hell yeah, whenever Canada is mentioned in American shows I well ... spill my drink (joking).
Well, I do brag about certain Canadians ... anyone remember Mike Meyers ... aka. Austin Powers? What about Pamela Anderson? LOL. Some of the best NHLers were Canadians, i.e. Wayne Gretzky.

Ahh, the classic CBC hit theme song from Hockey Night In Canada. If I had the opportunity I'd write to This Hours' Has 22 Minutes to petition for this song to become the second Canadian national anthem. If it is just as successful as their campaign for Stockwell Day to change his name to Doris Day, then why not try this one, eh?
The word "huh?" is not in my vocabulary. Therefore only the word "eh?" is the only valid option.
About the "Quebec" comment ... like I could top that one.

Ahh, I think the BC one had more funnier jokes - but lol, some aren't as generalized like the Canadian meme's jokes.
My two cents worth:
Yes, only 'real' mountains have snow, other similar phenomena are merely steep hills.
I can taste each difference in all of those coffee franchise products ... merci beaucoup.
Pronouncing those names of those well known provincial towns is easy. I love visting Nanaimo by ferry myself, just like I did last August.
Recognizing differences in those varieties of food is very easy ... I suppose I sound a bit snobbish saying that, lol.
Humidity WITHOUT percipitation? That very idea sounds absurd!
Dawson Creek is a wonderful town. I used to visit there a lot when I lived in that area before moving down here over a decade ago.
The "mountain" is always "out" in the Spring and in the Summer.
When it's 10 degrees celsius outside there is nothing wrong with wearing sandals but still being fully clothed otherwise.
Recognizing background shots in movies and in tv shows ... yep I've done that, lol.
I've used several pairs of sunglasses in the last twelve years - unfortunately I haven't found enough to fill a time capsule.

Hey everyone,

For those who RPG with me .... LOL. I posted a new filk today in one of my RPGs that I'm commanding temporarily. This is the first filk I've ever written .... I'll try to write funnier ones if the mood strikes. For those who are offended by my newest title,

It's about ethics stupid

... it is sarcastic.

More like satire than anger. I usually don't swear as blatantly like that. But a couple people who pretended to know me, and thought sincerely that I was their friend ... really never saw my whole personality, only traits that they wanted to see. I knew one of them for an entire year online ... so I am not joking or fibbing here.

They see themselves as honourable klingons, using their concept of 'southern honour' to justify their gripes with various yahoogroup owner/moderators. They are hardly true klingons. Their first complaint never reached the owner ... instead they manipulated her friends with 'guilt trips' to not even honestly tell her of their cowardice. The two other more serious incidents .... I don't know all the facts, but objectively they were more serious. The party both reported or threatened to report mod/owners who they thought had wronged them. In the last *classified* case (still going on at present), they threatened to report the entire yahoogroup ... which had some people against and the rest objectively in support of the administration.

In reality I am more Romulan, in terms of my ingrained ethical beliefs, but as a long time Trek fan, I firmly believe that even honourable Klingons would object to the actions of the complaining party. Those simmers act like the Dishonourable brand of Klingons, little respect of authority, and when they have complaints (with hardly any conclusive evidence as well) they either don't confront openly or convince their 'friends' to do their bidding for them.

LOL. I didn't think that I'd be drafting another post on my blog so soon, but I feel like it now so I'm going to do it. Lol, that line I put in quotation marks is from Ozzy Osbourne's hit Hard Rock classic song "Crazytrain" .... with collaboration by the Late Randy Rhoads. Actually I didn't think about this song from the top of my head today until I read one of a friend's posts where he performed the intro to that classic IC while replying to someone else (Anne-Marie). I think I'll email him one I wrote in February since we're talking about songs etc.

That quote I put in the title kind of describes my last two days of existence and this morning as well. It's like I've been on a crazy train since my sister turned 20 on July 13th. LOL. Or was I on a 'crazy train' earlier in mid April? Mais non! I went aboard on her birthday since I woke up. Zut alors! I have my Ethics class in less than one hour. I should eat lunch which means I don't have much more time to type for this entry.

This is a LONG over due update for my blog.

I was going to post a longer one in late June, but it was still incomplete, and I only got part way on June 26th to finish that draft. I'll have to post it later when the time comes along.

For those who don't know ..... my mom has been in and out of the hospital for the past month or so .... two stays actually. The first stint was in late June and she was admitted in the middle of the night due to extreme menstrual cramps. She was released after a few days. She was next admitted on July 8th to have a hysterectomy as well as have both her ovaries removed .... as it was necessary given her condition. She was released from the hospital yesterday.

It will be weeks before she can resume her regular routine. For those who know my email and IM information, contact me if you'd like to talk. My tag-board is avaliable for everyone to 'drop me a line.'

Other than tonight's Alias season 3 finale, there is something important happening or has been announced. THE election call has made by my PM, or rather the PM from my country. I'm joined to paste the article where I found out the date and such. If it was on CBC newsworld or other national newstations I was not avaliable to watch it when it was aired. It has been almost 4 years since the last national election ... ending in a 3rd term mandate for the Liberal party under Jean Chretien. Chretien retired this past December when Paul Martin became leader of the Federal Liberal Party ... and unelected PM for the rest of the four year mandate ... As I promised, here is the CBC article.

OTTAWA - Ending weeks of speculation, Prime Minister Paul Martin has called a federal election, marking the start of a five-week campaign that will end in a June 28 vote.

Martin walked hand in hand with his wife Sheila from 24 Sussex Drive to visit Gov. Gen. Adrienne Clarkson Sunday afternoon and ask her to dissolve the 37th Parliament.

"I am proud of our record," Martin said in a speech outside Rideau Hall. "But I want to do much more, so I will be setting out a plan to do just that. "And I will be asking for a mandate from the public to act on that plan. That's why an election is necessary now."

The 36-day campaign will test the mettle of three leaders in their first battle to be prime minister – Martin, Conservative leader Stephen Harper and NDP Leader Jack Layton.

Martin immediately launched into an attack against his political rivals. He said Harper would implement U.S. style tax cuts that would gut Canada's social services.

On the other end of the political spectrum, he criticized the NDP for thinking "government should do everything."

Martin characterized the Bloc as having "only one priority and that is to lead Quebec out of Canada."

Martin will try to carry on the successful path of his predecessor, former prime minister Jean Chrétien, who led the Liberal party to three straight majority governments.

The prime minister promised to build on the Liberals economic record of balanced budgets and pledged to preserve and enhance Canada's social programs.

In the days leading up to the election call, the Liberals made a number of key announcements, including changes to the controversial gun registry program and funding to Toronto's waterfront and transit system.

The sponsorship scandal and the creation of the new Conservative party and a rejuvenated NDP could be major factors that make the contest competitive.

The Conservatives, led by Stephen Harper, are counting on their newly merged party to end vote-splitting in key ridings, specifically Ontario where the Liberals now control all but eight of the 103 seats in the province.

Harper, a Calgary MP and former leader of the Canadian Alliance, became the first leader of the new Conservative Party in March, after merging with the Progressive Conservatives. The new party has put on a united front, despite a few high-profile defections from the old Progressive Conservative party, including former prime minister Joe Clark.

Clark also made headlines when he said he would prefer Martin – the "devil he knows" – to Harper as prime minister.

Layton, a former Toronto city councillor, has led the NDP since 2003, but has never sat as an MP. He has managed to attract a number of name candidates to his side, including former leader Ed Broadbent and Monia Mazigh, who led a year-long campaign to have her husband Maher Arar released from a Syrian prison.

I do intend to vote in this next election, as I have voted in the 2000 national one (my first), as well as the 2001 provincial (BC) one, and the municipal election (which my sister voted since she was then of age). As for 'how' I will vote, that will remain to be seen. Should I vote for a particular party .... or should I vote for a party's leader, or a local candidate. I might not vote based on the local candidates .... apparently by the time the election rolls around next month the federal riding boundaries will be changed in some federal ridings. And so, I will be living in another riding when it is time to vote .... although I am more familiar with the candidates in my soon-to-be former one. The MP representing my future riding is running for re-election as part Conservative Party, during the last election he ran and won as a member of the now-defunct Canadian Alliance party. For those who don't know, the Canadian Alliance and Progressive Conservative parties merged since that election, and elected former Canadian Alliance leader as the leader of their newly formed party in March 2004. Anyways that MP is the only candidate from my future riding to send snail mail not only informing my family of our riding status ... and of course, lol, information on his platform for re-election; he also gave feedback forms so that 'we' (my family or one person) can snail mail him some input on what concerns us as voters. I filled it out with some insights of my own and mailed it yesterday. I'll see if any other candidates 'popup' through mailing as well.

I believe that I'll make up my mind about what or who I will vote for as the election draws near. But it is my hope that the Liberal party will not get another majority government ... preferably a minority one if not eliminated from office.

I'm looking forward to seeing your version Emily. I believe it was Anne-Marie who wondered how much knowing you all influenced my list ... especially after reading question #8. On reflection it relates to not exchanging 'a/s/l' on the 'Net .... sadly enough I think Anne-Marie said it best in her former yahoo profile about the policy that me and some of my friends follow. Anne-Marie's yahoo account was deactivated by sometime yesterday .... but thankfully she has a new yahoo ID in place ...

I won't say what it is here, since this is a public blog, and I know that Anne-Marie would not appreciate unwanted anonymous IMs. Email me if you do know her and do not know her new screen name for yahoo.

Back to #8 and some other ones like #7, #5, #3, and the lovable #6. LOL. As for #2, #9 ... those are questions well #2 and #4 can be said to be controversial ... #9 has only one answer or so that is the 'right' one. Lol. 3/5/6/7, have been somewhere in my mind for awhile after entering college ... as I began studying social science courses, especially sociology ... and that began oh, what almost 3 years now; but the most influencial course was in Jan - April 2002, Women's Studies .... and so my list (at least that part) refers to that bit. #1 is one I began to think about more recently than 3/5/6/7 ... perhaps when blogging started or around then.

#8 stems from 3/5/6/7 .... if I remember what I studied correctly. But I suppose it is nice to find real people out there who *agree* with me on #8 ... LOL. I told Anne-Marie what generally my attitude concerning #8 was when I showed the list to her.

When I graduated high school in 2000, I would not have thought of that many questions .... lol, it was kind of funny in Law 12 when I was asked for a characteristic in what I look for ... I said "nice". Lol. How I have changed since then. That was like almost 4 years ago. In one year ... it will be my tenth year since graduating elementary school, when I finished grade 7. In someways it was nice to leave since grade 7 was like the year of hell for me, but after visiting classmates.com, a reunion isn't likely, only 2 of my former classmates are registered under that school's name. I suppose my tenth year out of high school would be better spent on other more memorable things like finishing my Associates Degree ... to complete it by then I need to finish the english prerequisites via Open University, since my institution requires red tape to try the intro one the third time around. I have exceeded the minimum credit requirement since the fall semester was finished but my GPA is too low to enter a Bachelor's program at a standard university or the Applied Bachelor's at my own institution, which is supposed to be more applied than regular Bachelor of Arts of Pyschology degrees offered throughout the country ... LOL. My GPA overall for my undergraduate courses is currently 2.19 and I need 3.0 or damn close to 3.0 to be accepted into the Applied Bachelor's program. I have taken nearly all the required courses for my major component with the exception of Experimental Psychology (PSYC 2400), and I need a 3.0 in that course alone to even dream of being close to being accepted. I intended to apply this spring but set backs last year and this summer made that so damned impossible. On the upside I -

I would like to thank my dear friend Jennifer for posting her own list on one of her blogs. I would like to begin to make a list of my own as well. I have a few tentative questions before I can make a finalized list of my own though. I am currently on a caffeine rush so this will NOT be my final list ... I will post an updated one when I am not having a caffeine rush since I am in one altered state of consciousness. Lol.

What I look for:
Age range: Between 18 and under 30.

re: birthday

Now that my birthday is over and done with all around the globe, I think I should blog something.

I was going to blog two other things that are not really connected with my birthday but relate to other blogs that are not my own.

Had I been 'tired' I would have skipped writing this bit given my pledge that I posted over a month ago following the "Post-St. Patrick's Day Incident" that caused minor damage to my blog's template ... and the pledge I posted following it. I had drunk some wine during my birthday so I couldn't really blog at the end of my birthday, now could I? Lol. Drinking does relate to the second off-topic thing I was going to blog, but it is not the topic of interest, my birthday is now so I will only discuss that.

Actually I really feel like going to my local bank rather than continuing this blogging session. I'll write later okay? :D I have a check to deposit ... a small amount, but since it is a check I should deposit into my account before I forget to. Please remind me to go to the mall tomorrow, and pick up my books from my nearest campus before that. Mind you I should leave before 2 p.m. so I can be on schedule for everything planned. After the mall I have to go to another campus since my chemistry class was cancelled overnight and I have to pay for my philosophy textbook(s) seperately. Since I was inconvienced in my course schedule I decided to just take another elective, and in this case a philosophy course, in case I decide to minor in philosophy when it becomes an avaliable option for me. My lingustics course and experimental psychology course are still offered for the summer semester, so at least I can look forward to studying those subjects starting this coming month of May. Okay, so I'm off to the bank ... I also need a black ink cartridge for my photo printer ... and must buy it before the next semester starts. The colour ink cartridge seems to be fine for now but it should be replaced as a precaution.

Happy birthday to me!!!!

Anyways I haven't opened my presents yet that are by the fireplace in the family room. My piano lesson is in a hour, because I simply forgot to cancel it until last night while IMming ...

I hope to at least buy myself some sheet music since I am counting on getting birthday money from at least one person, since I don't always get gifts and get money instead from some relatives. I forgot to ask for new sheet music for my piano. I have to see what genre I want, soundtracks (classical usually), rock, more depressing classical, pop .... I don't know. For the past weeks I've been practicing the songs from the movie Amelie, which were all written/composed in French. Mostly waltzes and a couple others .... a beautiful set really. Too bad I don't own the book myself ... I only play it during my lessons since my instructor has the book and soundtrack on CD.

Well I should go and eat something. When I get back from my lesson in about two hours, my dad and I are going grocery shopping. We didn't get time yesterday and we're having a BBQ tonight for my birthday. We usually don't on my birthday because it usually rains .... and I usually like going out dining. My sister has had the most BBQs on her birthday since hers is in mid-July.

I had my last exam for this semester this afternoon at 3 p.m. I am confident that I did sort of well if not good on it. Hopefully I got Austin and Putnam right in my explanations and did not defame them too much to fail it. Anyways I'd like to thank Anita for PMming me? Or I did PM her? Okay I forgot. It appears that I contacted her. I thought that I was pretty tired this evening. Apparently it was because I was famished from not finishing lunch and skipping breakfast. She left by the time I returned though. I know that she probably doesn't even know that I have a blog but thanks for keeping me awake, lol.

I even stumped Chris a little and laughed before one of us was knocked offline. I'm not going to say what the riddle was. Ask him if you want. Lol. Anyways it had to do with what Anita and I talked about earlier.

I wish I could say that I have good news to spread on my blogspot for today's entry. I have a couple not-so important things to say first ... then I'll depress you all with something serious.

I checked my current online unofficial transcript for my final grade in my psychology statistics course. The mark that I desperately wanted was a B, and I got a B+. I took it originally last semester and ended with a C+ the first time around. I wrote something about this on my tag board when I saw that. Kind of the best news I had all day. I was going to say that I had a good time at Starbucks in the early evening ... but something changed that feeling later on when I got home.

Darn it. I forgot what my next ... okay. I wanted to talk about the NHL's Western quarterfinals matchup between the Vancouver Canucks and the Calgary Flames. In case you might not know, I'm a Canucks fan since they are my home team, as you might have already guessed. Game 5 was played yesterday. Sadly the Flames won, and local fans got shot down in Flames literally. The series is 3-2 currently with the Flames leading it. Tomorrow is Game 6 in Cowtown (Calgary, lol) and the Canucks will be fighting against possible elimination. My sister is a (St. Louis) Blues fan and they were eliminated by the San Jose Sharks last night.

Now for the damn (pardon my language) news of the day. My sister is gone to the hospital. She left less than half an hour ago. I won't state which hospital because it might indicate which neighbourhood/city I live in. Ask me through emails if you *really* must know where I live. But I might not want to say much about her until I know what happened. My sister is epileptic. That is all I'm going to tell my readers for now. She was making herself some tea. As for the Starbucks reference, I had bought my self a venti Sumatra cup of coffee, with 2 brown sugars, and almond syrup. I just wanted something strong to drink. I also bought some after coffee Vanilla flavoured gum and a Ginger-Molasses cookie before I left for home. Right now my cookie isn't finished. I spilt my coffee in the sink after my sister left. I haven't bothered looking at my gum.

I have nothing else to say. Perhaps my word of the day should be 'fvadt' but that would be too vulgar to end off with. I think I should sing something to not cheer me up while end on at least a polite note.

Much ado about nothing

This session is going to be a short one. Yesterday, I 'ruined' my blog in a minor way when I decided to change the template. I had forgotten to re-input my preferred links and my code for my tag-board when I did that. Unfortunately I wasn't myself because of my previous insomnia following St. Patrick's day ... I had foolishly drank a lot of coffee during that evening's philosophy class and before that. I was so fatigued yesterday morning/afternoon. I didn't realize how much until I changed my blog's settings.

I was able to fix my blog last night when I got home. Adding links to my blog template was simple enough. As for the tag-board part, I had forgotten my password. But I had it emailed back to me from their website. Yahoo message archives did save the IM session Jennifer and I had in November when I originally set up my tag-board account and she gave me the instructions on how to do it. I archive all my IM conversations on yahoo for 999 days (the maximum you can do it) so I was able to view that conversation for reference.

I WILL NOT BLOG WHEN I FEEL TIRED OR HAVE FELT THAT WAY LESS THAN 10 HOURS BEFORE HAND. I WILL NOT ADJUST MY BLOG'S SETTINGS EITHER WITHIN THAT TIME PERIOD. ALTHOUGH THAT DOESN'T MEAN THAT I WON'T POST ON MY TAG-BOARD OR ON SOMEONE ELSE'S TAG-BOARD. I WILL NOT BLOG IF I FEEL THAT I AM TOO TIRED TO DRIVE A MOTOR VEHICLE. Okay .... okay... I didn't write much last time. I can't say much more for tonight. After reading Em's blogspot I got the quiz bug so I tried out this quiz because it seemed to be interesting. I took it twice because one score didn't seem right ... and I couldn't remember my enneagram score offhand without consulting my emode account where I discovered what it was months back. I knew what my personality code was: INTJ ... Myers-Briggs Inventory if you must know. It stands for Introverted Intuitive Thinking Judging ....

The Myers-Briggs Inventory exam can be used for a variety of things ... and is historically linked to Jungian archetypes ... Long story ... Or not. Anyways I took this inventory twice so far once a few winters ago and the last time last February/March for my career explorations class ... as it can help one with the career exploration process.

To complete this quiz you need to input your gender. If you have taken the Myers-Briggs Inventory like I have (or a similar test), input your four letter personality code (each letter has its opposite ... i.e. I/E, Introverted/Extraverted. I can't remember what the opposite for Judging was off hand though. Maybe I'll remember later or I can just look at my typed results from that inventory since it lists all possibilites ... several combinations). You don't need that code to take the test. Lol. Gender is needed though ... Then you input your enneagram type ... Emode does have a test you can take to find it if you don't know. I'm type 6 myself ... "The Advocate." I only inputed my enneagram when I took this large quiz the second time around.

Lol. I know this isn't a humourous article for most people. I am by no means endorsing dieting or the dieting/weightloss industry at large. I have never gone on a diet or have ever needed or wanted to lose weight. I have about average to just under average weight ... so I'm not supermodel thin or anything extreme.

Just for you all to know who haven't seen a picture of me or don't know me well enough. But I am a chronically slow eater .... and have had that pointed out to me time and time again throughout my life since I was like a baby. Alright this isn't a humourous article but it might ... well explain why I've never been overweight. I know it isn't a scientific article by any means but it isn't an advertisement either. I'm Canadian but I doubt that American and Canadian diets are very different comparitively. But of course in addition to spending extended times eating, and eating *reasonable* portions of food ... savouring it ... I mean actually enjoying food and drinks are just as important. For pleasures sake.

Darn it. I wanted to post about my trip but blogger didn't publish the entry when I told it to. I am sorry. I suppose I can't discuss what I wanted to. Thought I could cut and paste what I had wrote in one of my drafts since it worked before. But I guess not.

Going to India

I said on my Tagboard that I'd try to blog today to explain why I sent out emails about "some one in my family" dying. Well I don't have much time to explain in great detail so I'll do it now before I run out of time. I did get a short moment to tell Mickey who died ... but another thing unfolded so I'll tell all that is needed to be known.

My family got a phone call late night Saturday night ... at about a quarter to midnight. It was from my aunt, and my father's sister ... and we learned that a death had happened in the afternoon. This aunt lives in India ... so I don't know exactly what time the death itself happened. The family member who died was my late grandfather's younger brother ... he was like a second grandfather, and lived with my uncle (dad's brother) and my grandfather and his family the generation before that; they lived in the same house in Amritsar since the 1960s.

That is all background information. Anyways, my parents and my grandmother (who lives with us) spent the twilight hours Saturday phoning all our local relatives and spreading the news. The following morning all the elders, or rather local elders, who are all my grandmother's siblings/sibling-in-laws ... and one of my dad's cousins arrived to grieve. Most of yesterday was just us reacting to the news and deciding which ones of us should try and go to India to attend the religious ceremonies and funeral. The ceremonies themselves would take up to eight/nine more days as compared to the interval after the actual death.

My dad, my grandmother, and one of my grandaunts expressed their desires to go last evening. As of last night, however, only my Dad had all his documents ready (passport and visa). He decided to get my grandmother's visa this morning ...

Our plans somehow changed hours later once all our relatives had left. My dad asked me privately last night if I would like to go with him and my grandmother. I asked to have some time to think about it. As the title indicates ... I decided that I want to go as well with them.

I got my visa to visit India this morning when I went with my Dad to do some last minute shopping for items I need for the trip. I have everything now and all I have to do is pack. The last thing being going to bed earlier than usual. My first flight leaves at 1:30 p.m. PST. I know that that flight will go to Amsterdam where we'll have a few hours before aboarding our connecting flight for New Delhi. Hopefully taking time to shop there will at least create some sort of diversion.

I know that I will hardly have any internet access until January since I'll be back in Canada on New Year's Day. I'll try to read my email, since I know my cousin does have a computer in his home ... so it is possible. IMming will be nearly impossible for the next seven days. Not impossible, but considering my fast paced schedule I won't have time for IMming at all.

It seems the main computer at home is not working well with hotmail ... I believe it is just that computer, because hotmail works okay with my computer that is our secondary computer at home. I don't know why, but my computer is a bit slow ... or am I a bit impatient today? I'll figure that it is slow or something.

I've been rethinking the advice that has been given to me from my *emotional* post that I posted almost 12 days ago. I think I might go away from school in the summer ... which might start in May or then abouts. As long as it doesn't seem as though I'm rushing myself .... Since dad won't be in town until tomorrow I'll see about how that all turns out. But I will be in full study mode when the Spring semester starts in January.

I'm pleased to see that you're blogging once again Em!!! Although I've missed you ... you're not the only person that I'd like to hear from these days .... I've missed talking to Mickey, and I haven't talked or emailed him since like the 23rd of November ... I mean that the past emails have been to our online clubs, etc and nothing personal. That's my level's description ... since it said "extreme" at #7. Actually I'm pretty high in the last several, but the highest score at #7 ... ranking with tyrants, assasins, war-mongers, lol. I suppose this means that I'm not as innocent as I look? Level 7 is labelled 'violent' .... In RL and most of my simming I don't portray myself as a violent ... person as described here. I suppose I do in one RPG at least ... I suppose I should also look at the other levels as indicated.

Some things have changed since my last post ... and not *just* on a personal note, lol. I even have a new PM as of this morning ... or whenever Paul Martin was sworn in the Senate by Adrienne Clarkson, the Governor General. Paul Martin is now the new PM of Canada ... and yes, yesterday was Jean Chretien's last day as PM and is now a retired person.

Retired person? Lol.

It is no longer just my fellow simmers ... and misc. people I've talked about my blog too that have visited this site. My dad emailed me last Saturday ... and said that he 'saw it'. Lol ... he later explained that he first searched for a certain keyword ... 'it' happened to be the name of my yahoo profile. My blog's URL was provided as my 'homepage' link. Since I don't have an actual homepage, just this blog, he saw it. I also have links to SB10, IDF's main site, and DS15 on my yahoo profile as other links of interest.

My dad only emailed me about my December 02, 2003 entry ... Apparently he had emailed my mom about my entry and she replied directly to me about her reaction to it.

My dad has one suggestion for me, that Jennifer didn't think of. He told me to take a full semester off ... and travel with him. I guess my mom doesn't mind one way or the other about it. But she prefers if I travel in the Summer instead of taking off in January, when the "Spring" semester starts. I told both of them that I'd discuss me taking a semester off on Dec. 14th or after that, because that's when my dad returns from his job in Peru.

I suppose the main difference is, what will the game plan be if I decide to go through with the 'travel suggestions.' My dad is working on a contract basis in Peru with a local mining company. His contract expires in May and will not be renewed ... If I go in January, I'll spend my time at his mine site most of the time unless he goes to Lima or another town. I also don't speak Spanish, which would pose a small problem for me ... lol. On the other hand, if I go in May ... when the Summer semester starts, I'm not sure where my Dad and I will go. He does have a project with his company in Central Asia ... he started those ventures up with some of his former co-workers in 2001. I'm not sure about what stage of development, that project/company is in as of now ... maybe I'll post about it later when I have more info.

I can't think of much else that has "changed" ... so I'll post about ... actually there is something else.

Em, you mentioned that your friend from the IDF is giving you a 'hard' time. If it is who I think it is ... there is some news that was going fleet-wide the past week. A 'fleet address' was emailed to the simms stating, among other things, that the CinC was retiring .... I have talked with a friennd from another simm in the fleet, the GWB, and well, that is what 'seems' to have happened. If this is true ... lol, it appears that way according to IDF's website ... I'm just sorry that it didn't happen sooner when *both* my characters were in the fleet ... the IDF lost two great simms over two months ago. Personally, I'm glad that this person isn't emailling me and complaining, lol.

I should stop blogging for now and get on with the rest of my morning ... since it is already 10:40 a.m. .... 'Bye everyone!!!

I was going to type something else to start off this session ... but oh well. In my other version I typed a Freudian slip .... instead of writing 'spare' I wrote 'despair' .... Sending Out An SOS ... or is it just deja vu?

I suppose this is a cry for help. Although I doubt that any of you can help me .....

I just feel so hopeless right now. Perhaps if I explain a part of my situation it might be more clearer for you people to understand. My head is just so clouded right now ... logic doesn't seem to be very forthcoming, but describing how I feel is more unpleasant for me.

As some of you probably I know, I'm a student. I wish I could say that I'm receiving good grades and am doing well in my program of choice ... but it is far from the truth. To be truthful, I just don't feel that I can go on with *this* anymore. I do have a 'satisfactory' College GPA of 2.22 ... but I don't think it will get me anywhere. In terms of letter grades, it's only a C average ... and it won't be updated until January after this semester's final letter grades/exams are finished.

I've been at my post-secondary institution for over three years ... and am in my fourth year. I enrolled here in September of 2000. In the beginning I just didn't know what I wanted out of it .... meaning, what area of academia I was most interested in. I do have some sort of artistic streak ... being a musician for several years .... but I had just come out of high school then. I never had a favourite subject in high school, I liked them all, well except P.E., lol. But I'm getting off track here.

I began to study science courses during that semester at the urging of my parents. I can't say that it wasn't interesting .... but frankly with my learning difficulties ... I just couldn't handle all of those courses. And most of all, my high school English marks didn't cut it to get into first year English ... but since I had taken the provincial LPI test before I graduated ... I was able to get in just barely. I didn't know what to make of it all ... so during the Summer 2001 semester I took a couple social science courses.

On reflection my first year in college wasn't that bad .... just that I had difficulties in certain courses. I ended up changing majors and programs by the end of December 2001, when I decided I wanted to study Psychology. Lol, I had at least taken the two first year psychology courses as electives before changing majors, and my family seemed supportive of my decision back then.

My new program was however more demanding than my original one ... being that it was an Associate Degree. My institution does offer an Applied Bachelor's degree for Psychology, but one must complete *their* Associates' first. Providing that one also has a 3.0 CGPA to even enter the 3rd year. My objective as of January 2002 was to finish my Associates' Degree and enter the Applied Bachelor of Arts program.

During 2002 I studied the entire year ... but only technically as a part-time student. I have found that I actually pass all of my courses when I take three courses or less. I was generally content studying in my set circulum ... even though I had trouble registering for psychology courses .... 2nd year courses are hard to come by due to their popularity. I had fun taking electives that year ... I was suprised about how much I enjoyed studying philosophy in the beginning of the year.

I suppose I'm feeling more calmer in describing 2002 .... but 2003 is another story. I experienced a bit of a turn-a-round in Fall of 2002, when an Advisor suggested that I take the ACP program in cojunction with my Associates' so I can complete the oh-so-necessary English prequisites. I ended up taking one course for that semester and the Spring 2003 semester (started in Jan.). Thankfully in January I was able to register for Social Psychology, which is needed to enter the BAA program I was mentioning.

In March of that semester, DS15 was launched and Jen recruited me ... which started my life as a simmer. :) March, however is when all those deadlines popped up as the semester ended ... April came shortly after with finals ... and my birthday. I did well in Metaphysics, Social Psychology, and my Career/Employability class ... but unfortunately got less than a C in English. After talking to my English instructor ... I learned I still had options about taking a higher level English course ....

The next semester started in May. On another note, it was in May when I blossomed as a simmer ... I got a bit depressed when classes started because my History class was cancelled before it started ... I have only gotten the opportunity to take history in September 2002 ... I had figured that taking another course in that area would be fun ... Nevertheless I tried to concentrate on English and my Cognition course.

June passed quickly ... too quickly. July was more challenging for me. Meera, my sister had an episode and was admitted to the hospital when my mom was out of town for the week .... my studies did suffer. I missed a deadline or two when August rolled around. Summer 2003 was my worst semester ever, academically speaking. Actually Fall 2001 is close to that ... I got accused of plaigarism that semester .... but this past summer was difficult.

My parents pressured me to recover and do better this semester. My classes have finished a week early, but all is still not well. It looks like I'll fail sociology. That isn't all though. :( I'm taking Psychology 2300: Basic Statistics. I *need* to get a B in that class to fulfill my objective ... I got a C- on my last midterm. I *might* have a C thus far, and I do have a midterm for that class on Thursday afternoon. I have to some how pull through ... since all sections for that course for next semester are full. I don't want to retake it but I might have to if I don't get a high enough mark.

My other course this semester is French 1105 ..... my last midterm is somewhat more positive, but it wasn't exactly a C+ and I got a B+ on my first exam. I just got 80% on my oral this afternoon ... My challenge is to write my French assignment by Thursday ... Otherwise my GPA won't be that pretty, lol.

I'm late for my sociology class but I don't care. I just feel so worn out thinking of my academic record. Am I being to pessimistic about this? It seems that I've invested so much time into this and ... *sob* overall I have little hope of graduating anytime soon. I can't transfer to any of the local universities with out a higher GPA. Family life hasn't been that great either. I wish I could say that I enjoy being a student .... but I just don't know if I enjoy studying anymore.

I have talked about this with a couple people last week ... but it seemed so depressing. I even thought of dropping out last Tuesday ... but never went through with my threat.

I really wish I could cry right now ... I have a lump in my throat that won't seem to go away. I have no friends here ... because they've all gone off and graduated a couple of years back. I can't say I enjoy being a loner .... but it is something I can't seem to get out of. It would be better if I could complain about this to my family at least, since they should know me well enough. But if only if it were that simple. I haven't really told any of you about my family life in detail ....

I live with my sister, parents, and my paternal grandmother. My grandfather died in November 1999 ... before that he used to live with us. I have never met my mom's parents, and know almost nothing about them. I'm a second-generation Canadian. My family is Punjabi .... and as in originating from the province of Punjab, India. Most of the people in my family are adherents of the Sikh faith, as are the majority of people from Punjab. Although my father does live with us per se, he is often over seas on business ... and has been for several years now.

I suppose I should at least go to my sociology lecture but I don't see what I'll get out of it, since the semester is practically over and there's no final exam. Please IM me or Tag me. Some of you know my email address, so you can email me if you know it.

I read a rather disturbing article in today's issue of the Vancouver Sun. To put it bluntly one Canadian Alliance MP, Larry Spencer, who was the family issues critic ... did an interview the other day with one of the Sun's reporters, Peter O'Neil. Mr. Spencer expressed some very homophobic views that he had in his interview with Mr. O'Neil. I also watched the news ... on CBC Newsworld ... and Spencer was mentioned first thing when I tuned to that station ... Spencer has lost his post as the party's family issues critic and has resigned from the Canadian Alliance's party caucus. Lol ... I was so angry after reading the Sun's original article regarding Spencer's alleged comments .... I'm curious as how he became the Alliance's family issues critic in the first place.

VANCOUVER - Alliance Leader Stephen Harper Thursday fired MP Larry Spencer as family issues critic after Spencer said homosexuality should be outlawed. Spencer has temporarily resigned from caucus.

Harper said Spencer's remarks on homosexuality were "unacceptable" and "do not reflect party policy in any way, shape or form."

I wish to apologize completely and without reservation for the personal comments I made in an interview yesterday with Peter O'Neil of the Vancouver Sun.

I retract the statement I made indicating I would support a bill to criminalize homosexuality. I do not believe that homosexual behaviour should be criminalized or that homosexuals should be persecuted.

I apologize for linking the homosexual community with pedophilia. I was wrong to draw such an inference.

I apologize to my colleague Svend Robinson. I have the utmost respect for Mr. Robinson as both an individual and as a parliamentarian.

Lastly, I apologize to Stephen Harper, the Canadian Alliance caucus and supporters of the soon-to-be formed Conservative Party of Canada. I take full responsibility for my comments. They do not, in any way, reflect the views of my leader nor my party. This is why I volunteered to withdraw from the Canadian Alliance caucus.

I will not be making any further public comments on this issue.

Spencer said homosexuality is part of a "well orchestrated" conspiracy that should be outlawed, a Canadian Alliance MP says.

NDP MP Svend Robinson, who is openly gay, called Spencer a "bigot" and said his comments were "absolutely disgusting and unacceptable."

Robinson said it wasn't the first time MPs from the Alliance had made these types of comments and criticized Harper for appointing Spencer as family issues critic.

Spencer, the MP for Regina-Lumsden-Lake Centre, said that this conspiracy began in the 1960s and included the seduction and recruitment of young boys in playgrounds and locker rooms.

"I do believe it was a mistake to have legalized it," Spencer, 61, told the Sun.

Spencer, the Alliance's family issues critic, said there has been a deliberate infiltration of homosexuality in North America's courts, schools, religious communities and the entertainment industry.

He said this conspiracy has led to successes in the gay-rights movement.

"It's so sad that we have to take an issue like this and be asked to put the Good Housekeeping seal of approval on it without being allowed to tell the truth and talk about facts," said Spencer, a U.S.-born former Baptist pastor.

He said homosexuals, due to AIDS and other health problems, have a far lower life expectancy than straight men.

"Let's just say if ... anybody that used Colgate toothpaste, their life expectancy was lowered by 10, 15 years. What do you think would happen to Colgate toothpaste? It would be outlawed. Well, we know that's what happens to men living a gay lifestyle."

He also said homosexuals can transform themselves into heterosexuals.

Stephen Harper is not only the leader of the Canadian Alliance party, but is also Canada's Leader of the Official Opposition. The reference to the 'supporters of the soon-to-be-formed Conservative Party of Canada' refers to the prospective merger between the Canadian Alliance Party and the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada. The merger itself is a separate issue .... I don't want to go into that right now with my comments about that.

An Emode quiz result .... leads me to discuss something relevant.

Apparently on Nov. 22nd (Saturday), I took one of Emode's PhD tests .... which aren't the general fun tests they also offer. This test was their "The Religion Test." Unfortunately test results can't be publish directly to blogs/live journals/message boards from that site ... so I'll cut and paste my general results. I was also given the opinion of getting an indepth report based on my test results ... since it assesses how compatible I am to the top 10 world religions.

I do have an issue with this test ... I can't say how compatible I am with the religion I was brought up to believe which is Sikhism. I know it is closely related and derived from Hinduism about three centuries ago ... but still ... am I supposed to guess if I am or not? A possible reason why it wasn't included is because the makers of this test assessed the top 10 popular religions in AMERICA. It is truly applicable to me because if they were to do a top 10 list in my home country, Canada, the list would be different. For example Sikhism would be listed since lol, several metropolitan cities ... Vancouver, Toronto ... especially have strong Sikh communities .... I suppose since it is somewhat of a vedic religion ... I could guess whether or not I my beliefs/values are compatible with Sikhism is if I concern myself with the test's section concerning Hinduism .... :(

Emode is different from other sites in that all tests have a list of several, mulitple results ... in this case it listed all 10 they concerned themselves with.

Wednesday Night: No One Is Online

I'm sorry but I couldn't think of a better title for this session's entry ... so I kept it short and simple. Actually it's the kind of title that I send as a subject when I email my Dad. I email him when he's out of the country ... which happens many times each year and during nearly half of each month. But I phone him more times than I email him. I didn't set out to write about my Dad though. Lol. I think he knows that I have a blog ... or possibly not. On October 31st when I set about to create my first blog at this site he noticed that I was at the blogger site itself. I believe it was before I actually claimed this specific domain name. I had to try several times using either song titles or common phrases ... apparently some were to common, lol.

Hardly anyone is online. Darn it I spoke too soon .... some one signed on MSN only to sign out seconds later .... none of my readers that I *know* know her so I won't say who. Safe to say that she's one of my local relatives that I haven't spoken to since Dewali. No one is online. Perhaps, should I have titled my session as "No one is online"? I'll just add that now as my subtitle. Perhaps then some of my readers who have my IM screennames will IM me .... lol.

I took this quiz from Em's blog because I thought that it looked interesting. Thanks for posting it there, Em! Oddly enough that description is/was accurate for me .... more so when I was in high school ... but it is still somewhat accurate. But I never had 'funky' hair ... my hair has been coloured so many times, often in red shades that it looks off-black but more red than black. The last time I coloured it was in July just before my sister Meera's birthday ... and it was a reddish burgundy colour. I did watch most of The Bachelorette when it aired ... and in that season Bob didn't end up in the top four... but would be in my top four if I were there, lol .... kind of a great guy all around to be with. Bob is a really funny guy .... and had the personality that made everyone laugh ... kind of magnetic. But I agreed with the Bachelorette, Trista's decision to chose Ryan in the end .... I suppose I'm more drawn to the romantic idealist type myself. I'm also happy that at the end of this season's The Bachelor, that Bob chose Estella .... whoa, I was right on the money *both* times ... although Bob did look cute with Kelly Jo, he and Kelly Jo were too much alike. I'm only upset that I missed the first half-hour of the 2 hour finale in the first place, lol. I also missed Enterprise today ... since I was doing an errand for my mom, IMming on and off until 8:30 when mom needed the computer. I studied in my room until my grandmother called me to eat ... and by then it was already 9:30 so I'll have to catch Enterprise on the weekend.

I *just* checked Em's site and viewed the Quotes site she posted about. I'm bookmarking that site on my web browser because I figure that posting quotes would be a great thing to do too.

A Mid-Autumn's Evening Dream

I would have updated my blog earlier today if it wasn't for the fact that I was feeling terrible around 4:45 - 4:50 p.m. today. I read your blog's update just now Em, but it will take me some time to give you some imput on what you said there.

I seem to take quizzes minutes after updating each entry and saving the links if they were from certain sites (Quizilla or Quiz Diva) but not the quizzes from Emode since, lol, you can only *email* them to certain people and not cut and paste its link for individual quizzes onto web journals, blogs, message boards. I've been a member at Emode since the summer of 2001, and I can't even post one of the results from that site here. Oh sure, I could paste the image but it isn't as fun as letting others take the quizzes afterwards ... from my blog.

Emode's quizzes range from scientific ... to general .... career ... love ... family (they have a whole section devoted to Mom's) .... health ... entertaiment ... even one devoted to the holidays throughout the year ... lol ... but I've done all of those already.
Unfortuantely Emode bills you if you want comprehensive results on most quizzes if they are avaliable not just the ones that are somewhat pseudo-scientific. Emode only updates its "tests" every second week or so ...

They also provide a matchmaking service ... I haven't tried it out ... BTW you have to include a picture of yourself and describe yourself in like a paragraph. I doubt I could do that, lol. The latest feature to the site is the "Social Network" which appears to be somewhat like private message boards for members only. I haven't joined but appearantly I'm eligible to do so .... give me your opinion if I should join them.

I'm kind of disappointed since I might not get time to post my quizzes tonight since I'm being pressured by an authority ... my grandmother ... to turn in at 10 p.m. since I was kind of ill around 5 p.m. but I'm feeling well enough to post otherwise. I think I'll have my dinner now and post them later tonight if she'll let me. I was thinking of going to the CBS (Canadian Blood Services) temporary clinic to donate tomorrow afternoon at one of the local schools here ... but I might have to forgo that inorder to visit Meera in the hospital. Meera is my sister for those of you who don't know that, btw. I might also be a bit neglectful emailing wise tomorrow because I shall be swamped with going to the hospital for most of the day. I've told only two of you that ... I believe it was Mickey and Kay, correct me if I'm wrong ... I only mentioned to those two that she was in the hospital. I told Mickey who Meera was a couple months back through IM, unless my memory is slipping.

I shall return soon enough .... and will be back. When I will be back to update my blog is the question. Possibly on Sunday, Monday, or late tomorrow ... but tomorrow is pushing it. Actually, I took that quiz in early October the first time and just took it a couple hours ago again. I got the same result ... after looking at all the possible outcomes for this quiz I have to agree with the result. Oh, and the song is pretty cool too in my opinion.

Thanks to Jennifer and Em for replying about my blog on Em's message board. I've just informed 2+ more people that I have a new blog - Mickey and the members of CC (Cosmic Cheerleaders).

Lol. I haven't told anyone about the CC message board that I've been a part of since September. I have the website address ... and it is another yahoogroup that I belong to.

Lol. I haven't tried to recruit anyone to that message board but I might later, now that one of the moderators wants to turn *part* of it into a RPG.

The name of the group throws some people off who assume that we discuss cheerleading ... lol ... just because most of the members are women and the name says Cosmic Cheerleaders, it has absolutely nothing to do with cheerleading. We discuss sci-fi and fantasy literature, movies, and books. Lol, we also have some other interests outside of that ... including M*A*S*H (2 other people other than me), lol, and Monty Python (over 10). Most members there don't post though and it kind of disappoints me ... we have 111 members and only like 50 post regularly ... actually less than 50 but I'm trying to be optimistic.

If CC does evolve into a scifi-fantasy RPG I'd be willing to help start it ... but darn it I'm like in two simms and another F/T RPG already. Originally the talk about it becoming a RPG came about when Llinos wanted to write a serial about the group's members. She had us write our super-powers, and pom-poms (lesser powers).

Lol. I seem to have the most human ones .... lol. I presented myself with having eternal humour (s.p.) and the pompoms of innocence and perservance.

Now all we need is some villains .... credible ones for our RPG to be more realistic. *Everyone* playing wants to be a heroine in our game ... and it looks like I might be the only one who thinks there is something a little wrong with that picture.

I'm know expressing my intentions about playing a rogue character ... the more I think about it I could play one of the villain PCs there ... but not the most powerful one.

Lol, I suppose my pompom of 'innocence' could just be a deception .... playing an about of face when I start RPGing with them when we get started. We need at least 5 arch-villains to combat all of our army of heroines ... otherwise it seems completely one sided. We can't have sterotypical villains .... lol .... so putting one credible and believable villain, i.e. me should even the battle ...

Right now I'm watching HNIC on the CBC ... which is Hockey Night In Canada for those of you who don't know what I'm talking about. They show two back-to-back hockey games every Sat. night. Right now there showing Philly @ Toronto. Toronto just lost 7 to 1 ... I watched an uninteresting one-sided game ... but since I hate the Leafs I'm laughing at their loss. Hopefully the next game with Detroit @ Edmonton will be worth watching and sooo not one-sided.

I'll probably post again tonight. My sister Meera, is trying to figure out what I'm doing ... and she's waiting for the next hockey game to start. And so I'll stop for now before posting another update, hopefully with several quiz results.

Okay, that was weird. But I visited Em's blog titled "Oh, my so-called life." I posted a message in the message board area to tell her about my blog. After that I went back to my blog and found out that I had trouble editing it. Damnit, I forgot about checking out the tutorial, silly me! Anyways, I do have some backlogged quiz results that I'll post later when I get the time.

It is after midnight so I should be turning in. I hope to have more to say tomorrow or whenever I get time to update this blog ... my new *pet* research project. I'll make a point to visit Em's blog when I update mine to see if she's read what I posted there in the 'tag' area. Hehehe, TrapperLeeta is a good nickname to have but I'll get into that later.

It appears my dear cousin Manveer has IMmed me on MSN all the way from India so I'll chat with him for a bit. Some how chosing "Light My Fire" for my MSN messenger nickname is kind of strange or unusual for now ... but lol, I love Light My Fire so I'll keep it for now.

This is my first blog and is an experiment of sorts. I'm glad I could come up with a name that wasn't taken for a domain address. I'll post after I get my first one posted so I won't fret about it. And so I'll post this much before writing something with substance.
